About Me

I am Olha Volynska – author, award-winning journalist and narrative strategist.

Throughout my career, I have worked at both ends of the human experience – interviewing presidents and political leaders, while also telling the stories of those who have survived war, violence and profound loss. This work has taught me the importance of trust, dignity and responsibility in storytelling.

I am the author of five books, published and presented across Ukraine, Norway, Austria and Germany. The Austrian edition of Art Against Artillery was recognised as one of the 100 Best Books of 2025 by BÜCHERmagazin.

My work has developed in dialogue with leading European media and cultural institutions, including BBC News Ukraine, IWPR, Today.it, the Goethe-Institut, House of Europe and Deutsche Welle Akademie. I also speak at international democracy forums and lecture at universities across Europe and the United States.

Over the years, I have seen how empathy connects people across borders, languages and cultures, and how human connection itself can become a quiet form of strength.

Today, I focus on book-length non-fiction and memoir. I collaborate selectively with authors, leaders and public figures who seek depth over visibility and substance over speed

I work with empathy and care, transforming lived experience and complex ideas into books that endure.
